Police claim suspects entered homes posing as door-to-door salespersons

KARACHI:

A woman, her son and nephew were nailed by the Surjani Town police in an early morning operation on Thursday.

Surjani Town Investigation Police arrested three accused, including a woman belonging to a gang involved in robberies in different city areas, recovered mobile phones, and snatched cash from their possession.

According to details, Surjani Town Investigation Police arrested three accused, including a woman belonging to a gang involved in armed robberies. They recovered snatched mobile phones and cash from their possession. The gang organised the robberies after entering the houses in the guise of salesmen and salesgirls in different city areas.

The arrested accused include Rukhsana, wife of Niaz, Junaid alias Sagar, son of Dilawar Bhatti and Shah Rukh Khan, son of Niaz.

According to SP Investigation West, Arif Aslam, the arrested accused woman, is the gang leader.

He said that the accused used to enter the houses by knocking on the door in the guise of a salesman and salesgirl and then robbed the homes at gunpoint.

He added that the accused were arrested using technical grounds and that the accused Rukhsana had earlier been arrested in Shah Faisal Colony police station on robbery charges.

He went on to say that accused Rukhsana's sister Rehana has also been jailed three times, while her sister Farzana and nephew Shahrooz have also been jailed before. The accused have been arrested in a robbery case in a house registered in Sarjani Town police station in-charge number 2022/476, and police have started an investigation.

The court will be requested for the identification parade of the accused. Police are searching for other accomplices to identify the arrested accused.
