PML-N leader’s killer saved from the noose
The Sindh High Court (SHC) has rejected an appeal against conviction of Ishaq Bobby Hussain, a member of a banned outfit, in the murder case of PML-N Lawyers Wing Vice President Waqar Shah.
A two-judge bench headed by Justice KK Agha ruling on the appeal, however, commuted the death sentence to life imprisonment.
The accused along with his fugitive accomplices had opened fire on Waqar Shah on Main University Road on April 1, 2014. Bobby was sentenced to death on two counts by a special anti-terrorism court.

The accused has also been convicted in other cases including murder of Amjad Sabri, army men and others.
Hearing adjourned The Sindh High Court adjourned hearing on petitions of MQM, PTI and others regarding local body elections in the province. During the hearing, the representative of election commission said that the schedule of the first phase of local body elections has been released, hence the above requests are now effective. The court adjourned the hearing till May 23.
The stand taken in the petitions was that local body elections were not being held in the province despite the order of the Supreme Court.
