A man shot dead his daughter and critically injured her friend when he saw them together at his home in Qasba Colony near Katti Pahari on Monday.
On receiving the information, a squad from Peerabad police station came to the house and took the deceased’s body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
The Injured youth identified as Umair was said to be in critical condition. In this regard, SSP District West Dr. Farrukh Raza said that the 18-year-old victim was slain by her father Aslam in name of the so-called honor killing.

The youth injured in the firing was shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau KM Civil Hospital from Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, and a contingent of police was deployed there to prevent any incident. SSP Raza said quoting the initial investigation said that Umair had come to meet Amna, however, in the meanwhile, her father dropped by.
The man in a fit of rage opened fire on the young couple and fled the scene. Police are conducting raids searching for the accused and trying to track the location of the accused’s mobile phone, SSP Raza said. Meanwhile, a policeman died of a heart attack near Sandspit Beach Checkpoint at Hawke’s Bay on Monday.
Reportedly, the body of 50-year-old Karim Bakhsh was found near the Sandspit Beach Checkpoint within the limits of Mauripur police station which was shifted to Dr. Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital.
