PM Shehbaz was accompanied by federal ministers Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Rana Sanaullah, and Pakistan’s ambassador to the country, Afzaal Mahmood.

The prime minister conveyed his profound sympathies and condolences on behalf of Pakistan’s leadership, government and people.

“Pakistan and the UAE are bound by a close fraternal relationship. Under the leadership of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the relationship between Pakistan and the UAE scaled new heights,” read an official statement.

The statement added that the late president’s invaluable contributions will be long remembered by the government and the people of Pakistan.

In solidarity with the brotherly people of UAE, the government of Pakistan has announced three-day national mourning from 13-15 May 2022, with the national flag flying at half-mast.
