13 held for forcibly trying to enter Lake View Park

Police say only families allowed to enter park until May 8 to prevent riots

As many as 13 youngsters were rounded up for entering into a scuffle with the staff deployed at the gate of the Lake View Park and forcibly trying to enter.

The youths stormed the main gate of Lake View Park after Islamabad District Magistrate allowed only families to enter the park.

According to the police, only families are allowed to enter the Lake View Park until May 8 to prevent riots by the district administration in view of which the youths who came without families were prevented from entering the park. At this, they not only tried to force their way in but also scuffled with the officials and tried to climb the gate, prompting the police to arrest as many as 13 young men who were shifted to Secretariat Police Station where legal action is being taken against them.

Meanwhile, the closing time of the park has been fixed at 8 pm after which the entry in the park was also completely closed.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested three alleged robbers who had escaped after opening fire on a police party during a raid in the Dhok Ramzanian area of Tarnol.

A police spokesman said that on a tip-off that the robbers involved in FIR (517/22) were coming from Dhok Chhoi, Sarae Kharbooza to Sarae Madhu Sangjani toll plaza, a police team stopped three suspected persons riding on two motorbikes.

During the search of the suspected persons, the police party recovered a Kalashnikov and two pistols with ammunition from their possession. The accused were later identified as Abdul Razzaq, Zohaib and Sikandar Badshash, all residents of Tarnol who were involved in firing at a police party on April 30.

The accused have confessed to committing dozens of street crimes in the Tarnol area.
