Devil’s henchman in a suit and tie

Keep aside your political zeal, wear your hat of sanity and be rationale

The recent political turmoil in the country has been quite unsettling. Everyone, from young to old, has been actively participating in what has unfolded and is unfolding. It’s like that time of the year when everyone becomes a pundit or a political analyst. Proactively making predictions about who will be elected next, why the dollar is gaining strength against the rupee or why countries all around world are facing inflation.

Everyone through their social media seems to be supporting one party or the other and advocating how their leader is the right man for the job. Supporters of a particular party have gone as far as declaring their leader as a messiah amongst the corrupt politicians of the prevailing times.

Mind you, this piece is not meant to highlight the shortcomings or the hypocritical nature of the various political parties neither is it a source through which I will take digs at individual personalities. Through the instant piece, I aspire to address the readers to take a back seat, suppress their political inclinations and re-evaluate all their views and opinions. No, I don’t mean to redirect you to support some other political party but the message here is to realise that one’s political views should not interfere with their relationships with their friends and family.

Ever since the vote of no-confidence succeeded, there seems to be a bifurcation amongst the masses. Polarisation to the extent that I witnessed my social media blow up and not in a good way. Respectable, educated individuals bad-mouthing their own friends and family members. Temperatures reached to the point where friendships were vitiated, families stood divided. All of this for who? A bunch of people who don’t even know you exist.

Let me tell you something you already know. These so-called politicians, and I won’t refer to them as leaders because they are miles away from what a leader is. These politicians, they don’t care about you or your family. They don’t care what you do or what you eat, they’d violate your rights in a heartbeat for their personal gains. If you died one day, they would stand on your grave to make sure you were dead and they wouldn’t think about you ever again. Ask yourself: when was the last time your MPA or your MNA ever visited your area, let alone your house, to address your problems? When you sleep hungry at night, do you hearken the host up high or do you call upon your leader?

We all are being played by those who want to stay in power. We the people run these men’s kitchens and their houses. We, as a nation, are oblivious of our power over these state delinquents, who pretend to work for our welfare. When you’re short on money, do you expect the government to support you? When was the last time you got quality healthcare or social security? When was the last time the police helped you recover your stolen items?

These politicians couldn’t care less about your well-being, they look down you as slaves, as articles they use when they want to come into power. Countries around the world have people in power who have worked tirelessly day and night to provide free healthcare to their citizens, high quality infrastructure, roads, bridges, clean water, well paid jobs, free state education, universities, schools, public transport and the list goes on. What have your politicians given to you? For those, whom you abuse, fight and malign your friends, your family, your colleagues, what have they done for you and what are they willing to do for you, except for using you to vote for them?

Keep aside your political zeal, wear your hat of sanity and be rationale. Many of these politicians came, made money and left, but the people stayed here and they continued to suffer. They continue to pay taxes and get nothing in return.

Be respectful, be tolerant and be woke. These politicians aren’t worth fighting your friends and your family.
