ASI martyred in police encounter

Fallen officer had confronted suspects while they were robbing his house

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was martyred during a police encounter with robbers in Madina Town area, while two alleged robbers were also killed and one was injured.

Police shifted all three bodies to the hospital after the operation and started questioning the injured robber.

The three robbers entered the house of ASI Hamid Naseer and took his family members hostage before robbing the house. When he reached home after his shift, the robbers were leaving the house after committing robbery.

On which Hamid Naseer got into a fight with the three suspects. Meanwhile, SHO Madina Town Syed Iram Raza Shah also reached the spot.

The ASI and the three suspects were injured during the 20-minute gunfight.

Rescue 1122 personnel provided medical aid and shifted them to Civil Hospital. ASI Hamid Naseer and the two suspects, Sajjad Hussain and Tanveer Hussain, succumbed to their injuries. Meanwhile, one of the robbers, Shabir, a resident of Sheikhupura, was arrested with injuries.

SSP Operations Abdullah Luck, SSP Patrol Mirza Anjum Kamal, DSP Civil Line Rana Ata-ur-Rehman, DSP People's Colony Ghulam Shabir Bhatti shifted the three bodies to Allied Hospital's Mortuary Unit for postmortem and started questioning the injured robber. According to police sources, ASI Hamid Naseer, confronted the robbers alone for 15 minutes before contacting the Madina Town police.
