Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his ministers on Friday were stuck in Saudi Arabia’s Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH), located in the holy city of Madina, as some people, apparently, supporters of the PTI, gathered around them, shouting slogans of “thieves” and “beggars” – one of the pictures captured on the scene showing the premier sitting in a vehicle visibly perturbed over the incident.

Many took to social media and condemned the incident. Many artists, too, denounced the occurrence. PTI supporters Samina Peerzada, Rohail Hyatt and Haroon Shahid shared their two cents on the matter. "Yes, it’s unacceptable. Some limits should never be crossed," the former Coke Studio producer tweeted.

"Madina mein jo hua nahi hona chahye thaa. Aur ainda shayad na ho. Aur han yaad aya QeA Mohammad Ali Jinnah Sahab kay Mazar parr bhee naray baazi mana hai waisay. Kuch yaad aya? (Whatever happened in Madina, yes it shouldn't have happened and it probably wouldn't repeat too. But shouting slogans are also prohibited at Jinnah's mausoleum. Do you recall this?)"

Samina added, "Let your resistance be heard - but keep the sanctity of Holy spaces in mind. God knows what we have in our hearts. And we don't know what He might not like."

In a series of videos doing the rounds on social media, the miscreants can be seen specifically targeting Narcotics Minister Nawab Shahzain Bugti, calling him a“shameless” and a “lota”. In fact, one of them even grabbed him by his hair. The minister then ran after that person but to no avail.

In another video, Bugti can be seen taken away by security personnel in a bid to keep him safe but the miscreants continued running after him shouting slogans against him. The second person to feel the fury of the enraged lot was Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb. One of the miscreants could be heard shouting obscenities at her. The premier had arrived in the holy city of Madina on a three-day official visit with his cabinet members and parliamentarians.
