FIA forms team to analyse missing teen’s social media accounts

Team comprises forensic expert, technical analyst, female investigation officer, psychologist

The FIA cybercrime team visited the home of missing girl, Dua Zehra, and reviewed her social media accounts, digital devices and gaming platforms, FIA Cybercrime Additional Director Imran Riaz told The Express Tribune on Friday.

He said that the team comprising a digital forensic expert, technical analyst, female investigation officer and psychologist also interviewed with family members of Zehra who was allegedly abducted from outside her home in Golden Town within the limits of Al-Falah police station.

Besides establishing contact with the international mailing server, the FIA team also contacted the headquarters of the mobile phone maker to help with the investigations in the case. Meanwhile, MQM Pakistan Member Coordinating Committee and MNA Kishwar Zahra along with Senator Khaleda Ateeb and members of the women's wing met the mother and family of Dua Zehra. She expressed concern over the fact that the girl was not recovered despite the passing of several day. She assured the family of the innocent student of her full support in this hour of grief.

Kishwar Zehra said that it is a matter of concern that the girl has not been recovered yet. Thousands of women in Karachi step out of their homes for jobs, educational institutions and other matters, incidents like disappearance of Dua Zehra are increasing the feeling of insecurity among the women in the city.

She drew the attention of Sindh chief minister and senior government officials to form special teams comprising senior officers to ensure the recovery of the student. Kishwar Zehra has also demanded the judiciary to take suo motu notices on the non-recovery of the student.
