Thousands of Muslims sit in Aetkaf across Karachi
In hundreds of mosques across Karachi, thousands of Muslims sat in Aetkaf before Maghrib prayers on Friday.
Special arrangements have been made for the devotees in hundreds of mosques in Karachi. After being freed from coronavirus pandemic restrictions, believers had registered for Aetkaf in mosques in greater numbers than in the past two years.

Scholars say this act of worship has the status of obligatory sufficiency which is performed by one person in any population and fulfills the duty of the entire neighbourhood.
Itikaf means to restrain oneself or stop, while according to Sharia, Aetkaf means staying in a mosque during the last 10 days of Ramazan.
