The Sindh High Court (SHC) on a petition seeking termination of grabbing of lands of Pakistan Post Office Cooperative Housing Scheme 33 directed the Anti-Encroachment Cell (AEC) to terminate all occupations and ordered deputy commissioner, Mukhtiarkar and SHO Sachal to comply with the orders of the court.
A bench headed by Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi heard the petition.
The court was furious when petitioner's counsel stated that no action has been taken since 2012 and the occupation has not ended.

The Board of Revenue is not bothered to submit reply in the court. Goths are being established one after the other. How such large-scale illegal occupations are taking place?
The court, in a conversation with Deputy Advocate General Sindh, said that illegal occupation was being carried out under an organised criminal manner.
Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi remarked that who will end the occupation? Mukhtiarkar and deputy commissioner have take initiative to end the occupation.
The court summoned all the concerned officials at the next hearing.
The court also directed the anti-encroachment cell to submit implementation report within 45 days.
Occupation of footpath
The Sindh High Court has directed the hotel management to file a reply within four weeks to explain their legal position on the petition regarding occupation of sidewalks and roads against Cafe Sada Bahar and Karachi Quetta Cafe located in Saddar area.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi heard the petition.
Petitioner's counsel stated that there were stoves and gas cylinders on the street. This illegal occupation should be eliminated.
In this regard, SHO Preedy submitted a report. The report said that the hotel owners have occupied the footpath illegally. The court remarked that it was necessary to explain how restaurants could be run in such a small space. Garbage is put outside such restaurants all day.
Sentence quashed
The Sindh High Court while allowing the appeal of Ahmed Saeed alias Saeed Bharam, who is accused of murdering six persons in Yasinabad area, quashed the sentence.
A bench headed by Justice KK Agha ruled on the suspect's appeal against his conviction for murder of six persons. The prosecution failed to present evidence against the accused.
The court ruled that if there was no other case against the accused, he should be released from jail. Defence counsel Amir Raza Naqvi had argued that the allegations against Saeed Bharam were baseless.
The prosecution also failed to present concrete evidence.
According to police, the Saeed Bharam had shot six people dead in Gulshan-e-Shamim in 2003. Among those killed were Noman Khan, Tayyab Hussain, Saeed Ahmed and others. A case was registered against the accused in Azizabad police station.
Accused Ahmed Saeed alias Saeed Bharam in his statement under section 164 of the criminal procedure code had also confessed to being involved in other serious incidents besides killing six persons. A special anti-terrorism court had sentenced Saeed Bharam to life imprisonment and 10-year sentence.
