Police suspect that two of the victim’s friends killed him

A man’s body was found in a guest house room located in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 10 Rehman Society area of Aziz Ali Bhatti Police Station on Monday.

According to details, the body of a man with throat slit open was found from a room a guesthouse, and as per initial investigations, police suspect that two of the victim’s friends killed him.

Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and the body of the deceased was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for postmortem.

In this regard, SHO Aziz Bhatti Mohammad Adeel Afzal said that the victim was identified as 40-year-old Abdul Zahir, son of Naik Mohammad.

The victim was a resident of Nawahi Kali Quetta. Abdul Zahir came to Karachi from Quetta with two of his friends on April 7 and rented a room at Shayan Guest House in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 10 Rehman Society, where all three friends were living together. However, on Saturday, two of Zahir’s friends strangled him and slit his throat open with the help of a glass, because of which he died on the spot. The two friends managed to escape from the location.

The SHO said that the victim’s friends went to Quetta and told a person that they had killed Abdul Zahir. The said person informed the victim’s brother, and the victim’s brother contacted the guest house’s management.

Police rushed to the spot and, after taking the deceased’s body into custody, shifted it to the hospital and transferred it to the morgue after due process.

The SHO said that Abdul Zahir’s brother was coming to Karachi, after which police could get additional information on whether the victim had any enmity with the accused.
