Brawl breaks out at foodies hangout
A brawl broke out at a famous hangout place for food lovers at the Gola Ganda Gali in the Dhoraji area of Karachi.
According to the police, staff of a burger maker and a ‘gola ganda’ (shaved ice) maker quarrelled over placing chairs and tables in front of the shops. The heated argument soon turned into fisticuffs, and plastic chairs and tables flew like rockets from opposing sides.
After a long and hot day of fasting, people who had come to enjoy a relaxing evening with their families ran for cover, leaving their cold food and drinks behind.
The brawl’s video went viral on social media. The Bahadurabad police station arrested the suspects for hooliganism.
Bahadurabad police station SHO Meraj Anwar said that the quarrel occurred between tea and burger shop employees, who blamed each other.
Police have issued medico-legal letters for medical assistance to several persons injured during the brawl and will take action in the light of the report.
In response to a question, he said that we are blamed if the police take action against the encroachments.

According to reports, the traffic flow is severely affected due to the chaotic parking of vehicles and the installation of chairs and tables on the road in front of food outlets on Dhoraji Gola Ganda Street.
Shopkeepers put chairs and tables outside their shops for customers and, therefore, make them park their vehicles on the road, creating hurdles for the traffic.
The area residents say that encroachment on the said road cause severe hardships to the citizens, while the traffic police have made no effort to ensure smooth traffic flow, which shows that the authorities have deliberately closed their eyes.
