‘Poultry businesses should be consulted while fixing prices’

Traders express concern on action, imposing fines on retailers by DCs

Sindh Poultry Retailers We l f a r e A s s o c i at i o n (SPRWA) leaders and officebearers have said that rate list of poultry products should be prepared keeping in view the demand and supply.

Addressing a joint press conference Chairman, Rao Mohammad Afzal, Vice President Rao Mohammad Imran, General Secretary Chaudhry Mohammad Nadeem, Joint Secretary Mohammad Hussain Raza, Media Coordinator Rao Mohammad Arsalan, Arhti representative Rao Javed and others said that wholesalers, retailers, dealers and farmers should be consulted while setting and finalizing the rate list.

They stressed that shopkeepers should not be harassed by launching operation against them. They said if their suggestions are not considered before Ramadan, then they would go on strike from the first of Ramadan.

Rao Mohammad Imran expressed concern that deputy commissioners are imposing heavy fines on shopkeepers. He appealed to Karachi Commissioner to issue the rate list on daily basis as price of chicken fluctuates.

He said that chicken rates are issued on daily basis all over Pakistan, but the rate of chicken has been fixed only in Karachi. He appealed to the Commissioner Karachi to have mercy on the chicken vendors. He said that how shopkeepers can sell chicken at lower rate while buying the poultry at higher price.
