No arrests made in Attock killing incident

Four people died as two rival groups opened fire at each during bull race

ATTOCK:

Four men were gunned down, including a police constable while seven suffered injuries during a clash between two rival groups at village Bolianwal, around 18 kilometers away from Attock.

The police said that the shooting took place during a Qawali session at the Sakhi Bahadur Bala Pir Sarkar shrine two days ago.

After receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 workers reached the site and shifted the bodies and injured to DHQ Hospital Attock.

DPO Attock visited the crime scene and also DHQ Hospital. Police have registered an FIR and started an investigation.

Attock DPO Rana Shoaib Mehmood told The Express Tribune that no arrests have been made so far.

Punjab IG Sardar Rao Ali Khan took notice of the incident and sought a report from RPO Rawalpindi.

IG directed DPO Attock Rana Shoaib Mehmood to arrest the suspect immediately. Mehmood assured IG that they have formed special teams to nab the culprits who will be apprehended soon.

According to the police, Urs celebrations at the shrine started on 15 March and on the last day of the celebrations, the two rival groups opened fire at each other after a heated argument. They added that the incident occurred over an old enmity.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Rehman, a police constable while Ashiq Hussain and Intizar Hussain were brothers. Their other brother was also seriously injured in the firing incident and he is being treated at a hospital in Rawalpindi.

In a separate incident, a woman poisoned her minor children before consuming poison herself at her house near Dharek Village.
