‘Pakistan Learning Festival’ concludes

Large number of students, educationists, writers from across country attend fair

ABBOTTABAD:

With an aim to provide quality education, the first-ever Pakistan Learning Festival was organised at COMSATS University in Abbottabad.

"Learn, Teach Pakistan" was the festival’s slogan which concluded on Sunday.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Abbottabad Deputy Commissioner Tariq Salam Marwat said that his small idea of giving a fresh start to educational activities in Abbottabad materialised with the cooperation of educational institutions.

“Abbottabad is a landmark in the country in terms of education and seems to be able to maintain its individuality,” he said, adding that the festival seeks to provide unity and connection to the students by participating in learning events on a wide variety of topics, you can experience firsthand benefits of the lectures and other material is provided.

He hoped that Pakistan Learning Festival would be celebrated in Abbottabad as a regular annual feature. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) for Information Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif said constructive and creative activities would serve as a beacon in the education and training of our new generation. He added that advancement in contemporary education and venturing into the new field of modern-day technology is vital to achieving a respectable position among the comity of nations. He urged students to get themselves involved in innovative fields as it would usher the country into a new phase of development and prosperity.

A large number of students, educationists, poets, writers, from various educational institutions of the country attended the festival. A number of leading publishing houses set up their stalls and offered books at discounted rates. The wildlife department, civil defence, youth affairs, traffic police and Rescue 112 also set up stalls.
