Social development: USAID to help women in rural areas

KARACHI: The United States Agency for International Development, USAID, through its Mennonite Economic Development Associates, is supporting Engro Foundation’s CSR arm for their Women Empowerment through Livestock Development project. This funding support is being provided through a sub-award by the USAID Pakistan Entrepreneurs project. They signed a sub-agreement which seeks to implement a value chain development project in the dairy subsector. It will aim to increase by 80% the incomes of 15,000 milk producers, predominantly women, in districts of northern Sindh and southern Punjab. The sub-grant is over Rs128 million.
