Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Barrister Farogh Naseem on Sunday stressed the need for introducing reforms in law, saying “it is high time to put ourselves in order”.
He stated this while addressing a book launching ceremony titled Selected Judgments Volumes I, II and III Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi benches authored by Federal Service Tribunal (FST) Chairman Qazi Khalid Ali here at a local hotel.
Former chief justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, FST chairman and others were present on the occasion.
The law minister reminded that the world had adopted a pattern to record evidence electronically.
He said lawyers resisted to the introduction of reforms in the law, adding that the bar associations were invited for the purpose but they rejected the move terming it “exploitation”.

“It has to be decided by the Pakistanis either to make reforms in laws or not. The wives and children of judges in other countries have to follow a conduct but in Pakistan things are different,” he said.
“We have to contemplate on how to steer the country in the right direction.”
The law minister lauded the efforts of FST chairman and was presented a copy of the book launched.
