Two shot dead over ‘personal feud’
Unidentified gunmen opened fire and killed a labourer at Badar Chowk in Orangi Town while a man was injured in a firing incident in Sachal Goth.
Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle shot dead a labourer near Madina Masjid, Badar Chowk in Orangi Town within the limits of Mominabad police station. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. The victim was identified as Khanzeb, 60, son of Haji Toor.
According to Mominabad SHO, Imran Mahmood the victim was with the team of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited who were digging the line near Badar Chowk. In the meanwhile, two unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire, killing the labourer and fled the scene.
The SHO said that according to the preliminary investigation, the slain labourer has been targeted and the incident seems to be the aftermath of a personal feud.
Separately, a man was injured in a firing incident in Sachal Goth area of Sachal police station. He was rushed to Civil Hospital. The victim was identified as Irshad, 45, son of Gul Hassan. According to police, the incident seems to be the result of a personal dispute..
In another similar incident, unidentified gunmen opened fire near Salman Farsi Mosque within the limits of Manghopir police station, injuring one person.
He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way to Jinnah Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Shahidullah, 45, son of Hashim Khan.
Ahmadullah, younger brother of slain Shahidullah, said that his brother was a rickshaw driver. He was coming out of Salman Farsi Mosque after offering afternoon prayers when two unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire on him and fled. He said his brother had no enmity with anyone.
In this regard, SHO Manghopir Liaqat Kandiaro said that the deceased was running a small business of buying and selling of rickshaws.
He said that during the preliminary investigation, the incident turned out to be the result of a personal feud.
Two dacoits were caught and thrashed by the citizens near KDA Chowrangi in North Nazimabad.
Police rushed to the spot, arrested the robbers and shifted them to a hospital for medical treatment.
On the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, two dacoits were looting a civilian at gunpoint near KDA Chowrangi in North Nazimabad when he cried for help. Hearing the commotion, the bystanders reached and tried to catch the dacoits who attempted to escape. The citizens chased and eventually caught the fleeing robbers and thrashed them.
Police reached the spot and shifted the suspects to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Weapons and other articles were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
Robbers arrested after encounters
During two alleged police encounters in Sohrab Goth and Khawaja Ajmer Nagri, two suspects were arrested with injuries.
An exchange of fire took place between the police and the suspects in Sohrab Goth area on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result, one accused Imran was shot in the leg. Police immediately shifted the accused to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, suspects were committing a robbery near 4K Chowrangi in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area when police reached the spot and arrested Shoqeen Ali after an exchange of fire. Weapons and stolen goods were recovered from the possession of the accused.
Two dacoits, who escaped after looting a citizen in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, fell into the hands of citizens who handed them over to police after severe torture.
According to police, the arrested robbers belong to a rickshaw gang. Separately, Soldier Bazaar police arrested two brothers for robbing a citizen after an exchange of fire.
Unidentified armed robbers looted a citizen near Madinatul Ilam Imambargah in Block-5 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. They were captured by the citizens. The enraged citizens handed over the two robbers to the police after subjecting them to severe torture.
Arrested suspects have been identified as Abdul Razzaq and Muhammad Bilal. Illegal weapons were recovered from them.
