Three held for molesting girl
Police arrested three suspects for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and making videos of a girl at gunpoint.
The girl called Rescue 15 emergency control room and police timely arrested three of them. They also registered a case against them.
Police said that on Tuesday night, the girl submitted a written complaint against a driver and two accomplices for molesting, harassing, and making videos at gunpoint.
Haripur DPO Lieutenant Commander (Retd) Kashif Aftab Abbasi took immediate notice of the incident and issued orders to SHO City Police Station and other officers regarding registration of case and arrest of suspects.
City SHO along with Tariq Saleem and other policemen conducted raids at different places and arrested the Zakaria Khaliq Daad, Shafiq Shah and Usman Khalid and recovered a vehicle and a pistol from their possession.
DPO Haripur said in a message to the public that in case of any emergency, they can get immediate police help by calling 15 or Police Control Room on 0995920109. Officers directed the police and control room to take immediate action on the information received from the public and take action as per law.
Meanwhile, the sale of metal and chemical coated kite-flying threads continues in Haripur despite a ban.
Owing to the unchecked chemical coated thread strings which is being used in kite flying endangering not only kite fliers' lives but also of other people. Moreover, due to the ban on kites and chemical thread strings in Punjab kite and thread string traders gather in Haripur and openly sell both items.

A large number of buyers from adjoining cities of Punjab can be seen in Haripur purchasing chemical coated thread and kites while kite flying is also continued all over Hazara division where young boys are busy on the rooftops and open places by using chemical coated thread.
Like previous years, many people have been injured during the current season by the metal and chemical coated thread in Hazara particularly in Haripur and Abbottabad city and many children have sustained injuries while flying the kites.
People have demanded from the district administration to strictly enforce the ban on chemical coated thread and kites in the Hazara division and arrest the people who are selling these items in the region and bring these elements before the court of law.
