CM to launch Sagian project
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will lay the foundation stone of a Rs4.32 billion project to revamp the Sagian Road on Friday.
The chief minister announced in a statement that a 4km three-lane road will be constructed from Ravi Bridge to Phool Mandi Chowk and 3.1km dual lanes onwards till the Faizpur Motorway Interchange.
Another 1.6km dual-lane portion will be constructed from Begum Kot to Phool Mandi Chowk.

The chief minister said commuters in about 100,000 vehicles daily would be facilitated through the project.
In another statement, the chief minister said he PTI-led government would continue to serve the people, while the opposition was vainly vying for power.
He said the the journey of development in the country would continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Apparently referring to the opposition parties, he said those making claims about a no-confidence move against the government did not even trust each other.
He said the parties that had lost public trust could not exercise any no-confidence gambit against the government. Conspiracies were being hatched against the government from day one and this anti-democratic conspiracy would also fail, he added. "It's a futile exercise and defeated elements will fail again," the chief minister asserted.
He claimed that the opposition had failed on all fronts.
He alleged that the opposition was yearning for power, and not for serving the people.
"During the last three and a half years, the opposition has constantly pursued a policy of anarchy and does not want the country to move forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan," he claimed.
The chief minister said the opposition had earlier chanted slogans abut resigning from assemblies, but now was planning a no-trust move. He claimed that the opposition lacked the support of parliamentarians required for a successful move against the government.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Buzdar sought a report from the provincial specialised healthcare and medical education secretary about a childbirth in a rickshaw outside the Jinnah Hospital.
He ordered an inquiry into the incident and said the hospital administration was duty-bound to extend medical facilities to the visiting patients.
