LAHORE:

Some people want to take over the Dr AQ Khan Hospital Trust, the late nuclear scientist's daughter Dr Dina Khan complained on Wednesday.

She was addressing a condolence reference organised by the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) at Kiani Hall. Leaders of the legal fraternity said on the occasion that the pioneer of the country's on clear programme could not be accorded the respect he deserved in his lifetime.

The lawyers also voted in favour of a proposal to name a hall of the association after Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan. Dr Dina Khan said her father had great love for Pakistan but "we are still facing a lot of problems".

“It is regrettable that after the death of my father some people are trying to influence and take over the Dr AQ Khan Hospital Trust,” she added. She expressed belief that collective efforts would pave the way to accomplish the dream of her father.

LHCBA president Maqsood Buttar said the Kiani Hall had the portraits of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allam Iqbal, while "now we have displayed third one, of Dr AQ Khan".

Dr Dina Khan also inaugurated the Dr AQ Khan Hall on the occasion.
