The director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday stated that it had been five years today since the operation Radd-ul-Fasaad (RuF) began in efforts to eliminate remnants of terrorism across Pakistan.
DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar took to his official Twitter handle to announce that the RuF – which placed the Pakistani people’s security as its core objective – was “aimed at consolidating gains of two-decades-long war on terror”, and to eliminate remnants of terrorists across the country.

He maintained that RuF operations continued “successfully” as the country transitioned from uncertainty to peace.
The DG ISPR further said that the achievements of the operation were only “possible due to blood of martyrs and resilience of our people”.

The military's media ming added that the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on the occasion said: “We salute the supreme sacrifices of our martyrs and spirit of our great nation.”

Five years after being launched, Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad – Pakistan Army’s sweeping campaign against terrorism – has resulted in the elimination of the menace as it cleansed internal and external elements responsible for creating anarchy in the country.
Launched on February 22, 2017, the intensive nationwide operation against terror groups, steered by Army Chief General Bajwa, has successfully thwarted hundreds of terrorist plots across the country.
The operation involved area clearance through Kinetic Operations and development projects for the socio-economic uplift of the people.
