Loan cheques distributed among youth
Cheques and certificates distribution ceremony was held here at the Governor House on Saturday to acknowledge the youth seeking loans and successfully running their businesses under the Prime Minister's Kamyab Jawan Programme (KJP).
Prominent at the ceremony were Sindh Governor, Imran Ismail, Federal Minister for Finance, Shaukat Tareen, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Dr. Reza Baqir, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar, SAPM on Maritime Affairs, Mehmood Maulvi, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNAs, Aftab Siddique and Shakoor Shad, MPA, Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh, PTI Parliamentary Leader in Sindh Assembly, Khurram Sher Zaman and MPA, Shahzad Qureshi. Heads of different commercial banks were also present.
They all highlighted the vision, policies and sincere efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan to make Pakistan economically strong and progressive by generating economic activities, creating jobs and increasing exports, along with taking revolutionary steps on social front.
Empowerment of the youth and women is PM's top priority as without enhancing their role in the economy and in nation-building activities the country could not progress, they said.
Federal Finance Minister, Shaukat Tareen said after Kamyab Jawan Programme, under the directives of the Prime Minister, in next couple of years Kamyab Pakistan Programme would be extended to every nook and corner of the country, which has already been launched in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Balochistan.
This was aimed at enhancing income of the common man as the Prime Minister's vision is to focus on increasing income to beat inflation.
"Imran Khan was very much concerned about lower, middle and salaried class of the country and wanted to provide them all possible relief at the earliest," Tareen said.

He spoke of various steps taken to support the economy and the future plans in this regard. He also listed the social schemes launched by the Prime Minister for direct and immediate support to the poor that also included Ehsaas Programme.
SBP Governor Dr Reza Baqir highlighted the Central Bank's initiatives to salvage the economy during last couple of years, especially to absorb COVID-19 shocks and emerging challenges.
He said the macro-economic indicators were very positive and the economy would further strengthen as it had well taken off after surviving Covid-19 shocks.
Sindh Governor, Imran Ismail appreciated Usman Dar's efforts to make Kamyab Jawan Programme as a big success and a mile stone towards socio-economic revolution in the country.
He announced that under KJP 10,000 shops would be opened in Sindh, of which 5,000 would be in Karachi.
He offered full support to Dar in the execution of KJP. He praised Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision and leadership, and hard-work of his team to deliver to the nation and taking the country out of the economic challenges.
SAPM on Youth Affairs Usman Dar highlighted the salient features of KJP and said that it was gaining momentum with the passage of time.
He also announced that soon Kamyab Khatoon Programme would be launched to empower women. He also appreciated SBP and the heads of commercial banks for extending ownership and all possible facilities to KJP.
He said during his stay in Karachi for last four days, he had organised the conventions in different zones and distributed cheques of billions of rupees loans to them under KJP.
Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly, Haleem Adil Sheikh appreciated hard-work by Usman Dar and assured that MNAs and MPAs of PTI from Sindh would work as a team for him for successful and earliest execution of KJP.
MNAs Aftab Siddique and Shakoor Shad, MPA Khurram Sher Zaman and Shahzad Qureshi praised Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision and policies for social and economic change in the country.
They pledged to better serve the people of Karachi despite all odds and criticised the negative politics in the past. Now, they added, Karachi has once again become the city of lights.
