The woman, whose body was found inside an underground water tank on a vacant plot in the Mochko area two days ago, was finally identified on Sunday.

A woman's body was found inside a water tank built on a vacant plot in the area around noon on Friday. The body could not be immediately identified. She was killed by the hit of a heavy object on her head.

Police moved the body to a morgue after legal proceedings. The next day, the victim was identified as Salma alias Najma, daughter of Shah Jahan, 23. She was a resident of Muhammadi Colony, Machhar Colony.

The victim's brother Muhammad Ilyas told police that his sister had filed a case for annulment of marriage from her husband Nabi Hussain and had gone to work as usual on February 10. When she did not return in the evening, the family searched for her. He said that his mother got information from her sister's colleague, telling her that Salma had gone with her ex-husband.
