PIA CEO declines extension in tenure

Appointment of new CEO is expected within next two days, say sources

PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik has refused to accept an extension in his tenure.

According to details available with The Express Tribune, the national flag carrier’s Board of Directors held a meeting, wherein they decided to extend the tenure of the incumbent CEO.

The top PIA official, however, refused to accept an extension in his tenure.

Air Marshal Malik is scheduled to retire on April 25, and the board has decided to publish an advertisement for his successor’s appointment.

Keeping in view his refusal, sources said, appointment of a new CEO is expected within the next two days.

Shaukat Ali | 2 years ago | Reply It s good to refuse an extension in tenure because it has become a common practice wishing an extension in few departments but let s hope this decision of CRO Arshad Malik would be purely on grounds of principles rather than on the hope of getting a better post in any other department.
