Balochistan CM briefed on vacancies

Decided that action would be taken against officials found involved in the use of illegal means

Chief Secretary Balochistan Motahar Niaz Rana and Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo on Thursday held a detailed meeting to frame a mechanism for the fair process of recruitment on vacant posts in the province.

Chief Secretary briefed the Chief Minister on current vacancies and recruitment procedures at the provincial, divisional and district level.

It was agreed in the meeting that the vacancies would be filled in accordance with the procedure approved in the recent meeting of the provincial cabinet. It was decided that action would be taken, under the Anti-Corruption and the Beda Acts, against officials found involved in the use of illegal means.

It was also approved that a mechanism would be framed to monitor the recruitment process and redress the grievances of the candidates.

It has been clarified in the meeting of the secretaries committee that the secretaries will be responsible for the transparency of recruitment in their departments. Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners are also bound to ensure transparency and merit in their districts.

Chief Minister Bizenjo vowed to employ all possible measures to remove the past perception of the use of favouritism in the recruitment process. He emphasized on the transparency and merit so that the rights of any eligible person are not violated.

Bizenjo said improvement of the delivery system in all departments, especially education and health depends on the presence of competent officers and personnel. The first responsibility of the government is to promote merit to keep administrative and financial affairs in the right direction.

“Corruption in recruitment as well as development projects is intolerable,” Chief Minister said.

Bizenjo resolved to not forgive elements involved in waste of resources and corruption in development funds.
