ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will give its ruling on the appeals in the case of plot allotments to judges, bureaucrats and government employees of the Supreme Court case.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Athar Minallah will pronounce the verdict.

The Islamabad High Court had earlier barred judges and bureaucrats to take plots from lucky draws. It has also suspended allotment of plots to judges of district courts besides barring authorities from evicting locals from their ancestral lands.

Justice Minallah had asked about the number of members who had not been allotted plots in Islamabad’s sectors F-14 and F-15.

“There must be a waiting list. What was the policy? You have also allotted plots to judges who were sacked because of corruption. Is it the policy to encourage corruption?” he asked from the FGEHA officials.

Justice Minallah had remarked that the government’s policy should be to allot plots only to those who did not have homes of their own and prevent them from selling them afterwards.
