Sania Mirza bids adieu to Australian Open

Indian tennis ace, her partner Rajeev Ram, bow out after losing mixed doubles quarter-final match 4-6, 6-7

Sania Mirza bowed out of the Australian Open on Tuesday after losing her mixed doubles quarter-final match.

Mirza, playing with American Rajeev Ram, succumbed to a 4-6, 6-7 defeat at the hands of Australian pair Jason Kubler and Jaimee Fourlis.

Mirza had earlier announced that she would hang up her racquet at the conclusion of the 2022 season. The 35-year-old Indian star has bid farewell to Australian Open having won two doubles titles.
