Lahore shocked by quadruple murder

Victims include female doctor and her three children

A lady doctor, her son and two daughters were shot dead at night in their house in Kahna on Wednesday.

The victim Naheed Mubarak, 45, had set up a clinic at her house at LDA Avenue. She, her son Taimoor, 21, and daughters Mahnoor, 16, and Jannat Fatima, eight were found dead at their home in the morning.

The victims had bullet injuries from a 30-bore handgun.

All the victims were found dead in a bedroom of the house. As the information of the murder was received, heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot.

Police teams and forensic experts collected evidence from the crime scene.

The investigations SSP said a police team headed by the Model Town investigations SP had been formed to inquire into the matter. He said police were using technological means to identify the killers.

Initial police investigations suggested that the victims were murdered at night and the killer was an acquaintance of the family.

Investigators said the police had spotted a grey car being parked outside the house at 12:47am. A person left the vehicle and went into the house, after which the car stayed there for about two hours.

The police said they were analysing the CCTV footage and Punjab Safe City Authority cameras to identify the suspect who had fled from the scene. Police officials said the deceased due actor was a resident of the Gajumata area.

A neighbour who went to the house to turn on a water pump early in the morning found the family members dead. He reported the matter to the police on the emergency helpline.

The police took the bodies to a hospital for postmortem.

People of the neighbourhood told The Express Tribune that the victim doctor’s husband Sabtain had remarried and was living with his second wife.

They said the husband of the deceased also bore the expenses of their children.

The local people said an attempt had also been made five years ago to kill the woman. She had been living in the Madina Town locality for 25 years and apparently had no enmity.

The deceased woman’s son Zain, aged 18, remained safe as he was reportedly sleeping in another room.

Investigation SSP Imran Kishore said police were searching for the car found parked outside the house for two hours. He said the case was being investigated from every aspect.

Police officials said they were unclear about the motive for the murders.

Punjab Chief Minister.Usman Buzdar asked Lahore police to apprehend the killers with the help of forensic evidence

Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan also sought a report about the incident to the Lahore CCPO.

He said those involved in the murder should be arrested as soon as possible, strict legal action should be taken against them and the incident should be investigated while keeping in view all the aspects.

On November 24, 2021 Four members of a family, including two children, were gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists in Maralpur village near Ferozwala in Shiekhupura district on Wednesday.

The victims Shahnawaz, a resident of Batapur in Lahore, his wife Zainab Awan and two daughters were gravelling in a car that was attacked by armed men. As a result of the firing, the couple sitting in the front seats and the young girls in the back seats died on the spot. According to eye-witness accounts, unidentified motorcyclists intercepted the family on a road and opened fire at them.
