The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has reiterated its call for the opposition parties to consider tabling a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The party leaders floated the idea while briefing the media outside the party secretariat in Lahore about the possible decisions of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting on Wednesday.
The final decision in this respect would be made public once all the decisions taken during the said meeting are ratified by the party’s core committee meeting, scheduled to take place on Thursday (today).
A session of PPP CEC met here under the chair of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. The session was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Yousaf Raza Gillani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Maula Bukhsh Chandio, Qaim Ali Shah, Shazia Marri, Nafisa Shah and other central leaders.
The final decision taken during the CEC meeting, however, was not made public as the party leaders who came out to address the media said the decision would be first shared with party provincial heads to seek their opinion on it.

However, a leader later talking to The Express Tribune said there was only a core committee meeting on Thursday, where all the decisions taken by CEC would be ratified.
A white paper on the PTI government’s performance was presented in the PPP CEC.
It elaborated on the dismal performance of the PTI government in providing relief to the people. The CEC members also held consultations over the minimum wage of a labourer and prices of gas and urea.
The opposition party decided to hold strong protests in provincial, national assemblies and the Senate. Moreover, it has been decided to re-organise the PPP in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.
Two party leaders Shazia Marri and Faisal Kareem Kundi, who were addressing the media, did however drop a hint about the decision that can be expected today.
A leader talking to The Express Tribune said that the party was also suggested to launch the long march alone if opposition parties do not lend their support to the idea of an in-house change.
He said the said long march, if accorded approval by core committee meeting, could be taken out from all parts of the country towards Islamabad and even a sit-in could be considered.
