Malir police arrest four for murder

KARACHI:

A woman was shot dead by her ex-husband in Lyari. According to DSP Hafeez Junejo, Irum, 30, was shot dead by her ex-husband Zahid Ahmed at Gharib Shah Noor Masjid, Street No. 4 in Lyari.

According to the DSP, the suspect shot Irum in the head and fled from the scene. Raids are being conducted in search of the accused. The victim was a resident of Hyderabad and the mother of two children.

The victim had come to the house of her relatives in the Lyari area for a wedding ceremony. The accused had divorced the victim two years ago.

The accused knocked at the door of the house and as soon as Irum opened the door, he shot her dead. Her body was handed over to the family members after completing formalities.

Killers arrested

Malir District police have arrested four suspects on charges of killing one person and injuring another by firing on a car near Murghi Khana, Quaidabad. According to SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur, the arrested suspects include Wahid, Zakaria, Amin and Suleiman. The police recovered two motorcycles from their possession while raids are being carried out to arrest their accomplices.

Arrested and fugitive suspects opened fire on a car on Friday over a land dispute, killing Khuda Dost, 45, and injuring his companion Umarzada, 50. The accused had fled the scene.

Water tanker turns turtle

A water tanker overturned near the Mosamiyat area on University Road within the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station on the night between Friday and Saturday. As a result, the tanker's water spilled on the road and it was closed for traffic.

According to sources, the accident occurred due to a broken axle. However, no casualties were reported in the accident.
