'Bureaucracy role vital in easing judiciary burden’

Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed has laid emphasis on the bureaucracy in discharging it responsibilities honestly, transparently and in accordance with the law, saying that delay in decision making increases the burden on the judiciary.

“The reluctance of the bureaucracy to function increases the anxiety of the people,” the chief justice said in a meeting with a delegation of the National Management Course at the Supreme Court on Friday.

According to details released by the Supreme Court, delegation of 115th National Management Course led by National School of Public Policy Rector Dr Ijaz Munir called on Chief Justice Gulzar.

The chief justice welcomed the delegation.

Talking to the delegation during the meeting, CJ Gulzar said that the bureaucracy should seek guidance from the courts so that justice could be done.

“Only the provision of basic rights will reduce the gap between the people and the bureaucracy,” he said. “Establishment of good governance is impossible without good executive officers.”

The delegation thanked the chief justice for giving time for the meeting and also presented him with a souvenir.
