‘16m have received first Covid vaccine doses’
The Sindh government has claimed that over 16 million people have received the first does of their vaccines, while 1.06 million have taken both doses.
This was stated during an important meeting held at the Sindh Secretariat on the Coronavirus vaccination campaign, under the chairmanship of chief secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah. Additional Chief Secretary Home Qazi Shahid Pervez, Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Health Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Colleges Secretary Khalid Haider Shah and School Education Secretary Ghulam Akbar Leghari participated in the meeting. The meeting was briefed about the ongoing vaccination campaign in the province and the drive at educational institutions.

It was further stated 0.28 million children have been vaccinated at government schools of Sindh and 82,000 took their doses at private schools. As many as 76,000 college students of the province have also been vaccinated.
In the meeting, Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said all private educational institutions of the province should ensure the vaccination of their pupils. Shah added that all deputy commissioners should ensure the target of the vaccination campaign.
