CHAK JHUMRA:

Two women were allegedly raped in separate incidents on Sunday.

Police registered cases and launched raids to arrest the suspects.

A complainant told the police that suspect Muzammil took her to a house and raped her at gunpoint along with an accomplice. The police registered a case under Section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and started a search for the suspects.

Meanwhile, another woman was abducted from her house and assaulted.

Reportedly, the victim was on her way to buy grocery when the suspect Sadi Ahmed along with his two accomplices forcibly took her to an unknown place and raped her at gunpoint.

The police reportedly arrested two suspects, including Sadi, under Section 376 of PPC and started raids to apprehend their accomplice.

Sexual assault cases are not uncommon across the province.

On April 9, a man allegedly raped a nine-year-old girl in Gujranwala.

Police registered a case on the complaint of the father of the victim.
