LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that every conspiracy hatched against the ruling PTI's mandate has been frustrated with public support and the people will not tolerate negative tactics employed by the opposition to obstruct the development process.

He said in a statement on Wednesday that the opposition PDM leadership lacked foresight as the 'opportunist cabal' had no interest in public welfare. The CM said the PDM continued to raise hue and cry since the first day and it would face defeat at every front.

The CM advised the opposition parties to relax till 2023, asserting that the politics of development and public welfare would prevail in the country.

He said the PTI and its allies were working day and night to bring prosperity and stability to the country while the opposition had faced defeat on every occasion. Though the opposition was expert in propaganda tactics, it cannot befool the masses as PM Imran Khan is a strong hope of the 220 million people of Pakistan, he said. The chief minister said the government has made historic legislation in the joint session of parliament but undemocratic attitude of the opposition with regard to the public-interest legislation was condemnable.

He noted that the allies had fully supported the government in the legislation.

He said it was unbecoming that the opposition was trying to create divisions on important issues and such politics did not suit them by depicting a picture of failure and disorder. Most of the opposition members are unhappy over the behaviour of their leadership, he claimed.

Welcoming the legislation on electoral reforms, Chief Minister Buzdar said the opposition had faced defeat in the joint session of parliament and now it should shun its negative attitude.
