A local court has extended the physical remand of the arrested suspects in Nazim Jokhio murder case for two days.
The complainant's counsel filed petitions seeking inclusion of anti-terrorism provisions in the case and forensic examination of the mobile phone of SHO Memon Goth police station.
The murder case of Nazim Jokhio was heard before the Judicial Magistrate in Malir Court. The police produced six suspects, including MPA Jam Owais Guhram, in the court on completion of their remand. The police have added provisions of concealing evidence in the case whereas the kidnapping clause has already been included.
The investigation officer said that Nazim Jokhio's burnt mobile phone and clothes were recovered and sent for forensics and requested the court for extension of physical remand of the suspects. The complainant's counsel argued that the verification of Nazim Jokhio's clothes and mobile phone was not carried out. The complainant and his counsel were not present at the time of recovery of significant evidence.

The complainant's counsel argued that the mobile phone of Memon Goth SHO should be sent for forensics, alleging that the SHO was in touch with the suspects. The complainant's counsels also filed a petition seeking inclusion of anti-terrorism provisions in the case, stating that the incident had spread terror across the country. The incident has also damaged the prestige of the Sindh Assembly as an MPA is also involved in the murder of Nazim Jokhio.
