KARACHI:

On the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail along with the Sindh Assembly opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh met with the heirs of slain Nazim Jokhio at Achar Salar Goth in Malir and expressed condolences to the deceased’s family.

The governor strongly condemned the tragic incident and said, “The prime minister is highly concerned about the incident. He seeks the progress in the investigation.

I assure the heirs of Nazim Jokhio that the elements involved in the murder will be brought to book.”

Later talking to media, the Sindh governor said, “We will take this case to a logical conclusion. I will also speak to Sindh chief minister and IGP in this regard.” He added, “We will not allow the law of the jungle to prevail here. Also, we do not have confidence in the JIT constituted by the provincial government. We will request the prime minister to form a JIT at the federal level.”

Meanwhile, Karachi Jamaat-e- Islami (JI) chief, Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman also visited the grieved family of Nazim Jokhio and offered sympathies with the bereaved family.

Speaking on the occasion, the JI leader said that the horrendous crime was the true face of the feudalism and slavery system prevailing in the province.

He added that people in the prevailing system can’t get their rights as democracy has been hijacked.
