SHC orders recovery of missing child

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed the PIB police station to take immediate steps for the recovery of a missing child.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, heard the petition seeking recovery of Muzammil, who went missing from within the jurisdiction of PIB police station. Petitioner's counsel contended that the child had left the house and did not return.

Police officials said that the area is very sensitive and the child is being searched. Some time ago, a baby girl from the same area had also gone missing. Later, the minor was found dead.

The statements of 94 people have been recorded in search of Muzammil. Garbage dumping places have also been searched.

Pictures of the child have been posted on the bus stands but to no avail. Justice Phulpoto remarked that modern methods should be adopted for the recovery of the child. The court ordered immediate action for the child's recovery and sought a report from the concerned police and other agencies within a month.

Shops in residential building

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed SBCA's Deputy Director South to appear on December 6 along with implementation report in a contempt of court petition against DG SBCA regarding running of 10 shops in residential building in Wadhumal Odharam Quarter, an ancient area of the city.

A two-judge bench, headed by Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, heard the contempt of court petition. The petitioner's counsel argued that seven years have passed since the court's decision and it has not been implemented till date.

The contempt petition has been going on for five years. Justice Rajput asked the SBCA lawyer why the implementation was not done.

The SBCA counsel contended that shops have been set up on the residential plot and action has been taken.

The pillars of the building cannot be demolished because the building is old and dilapidated. Letters have been written for disconnection of electricity and gas. The court issued orders for Deputy Director South SBCA to appear on December 6 along with the implementation report.

Shops on Green Belt

The Sindh High Court has issued notices to DG SBCA and others on the petition against construction of shops on Green Belt along Kashmir Road and de-sealing of sealed shops and ordered the Nazir to submit a report after carrying out inspection. A two-judge bench, headed by Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, heard the petition. Irfan Aziz, counsel for the petitioner, argued that the shops on Kashmir Road were sealed on the order of the court. A large line of water flows beneath the green belt. The sealed shops were de-sealed. The court issued notices to DG SBCA and others. The court appointed Nazir to inspect the green belt and ordered him to submit a report.

Free will marriage couple

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to New Town SHO and East SSP, ordering them to provide protection to the couple marrying on free will. A bench, headed by Justice KK Agha, heard the petition. "My brother Abdullah has filed a false case of kidnapping against my husband and his friends," said the girl who got married of her choice. "No one has kidnapped me. I got married to Shahbaz on October 18, 2021." The petitioner's counsel Liaqat Gabol argued that the police were harassing the petitioners and conducting raids to arrest them. The court also restrained the police from arresting Shahbaz. The court issued notices to New Town SHO and East SSP and ordered to provide protection to Shahbaz and Umm-e-Kulsoom. The court adjourned the hearing.
