A female resident of Sindh's Hala district, who has accused her nephew of subjecting her to sexual assault, said on Sunday she was receiving death threats for making public her ordeal.

According to the victim, Shaukat, her nephew, took her to the roof of her house and sexually assaulted her there. She pleaded to the accused to refrain from the heinous act but he didn't pay heed to her.

The victim went on to add that when she went to the police station to lodge a complaint of the incident, the personnel present there, instead of registering a case, told her off with sarcastic remarks, accusing her of involvement in the act.

The victim said that her nephew is threatening to kill her if she spoke up about her ordeal. She called upon Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Inspector General of Police to provide justice to her.

A day earlier, two men who were arrested by Rawalpindi police for allegedly raping their 14-year-old niece, were released from jail by the court.

The case was registered at Ratta Amral police station against two brothers, Muhammad Faizan and Muhammad Kamran, on the complaint of the councillor of Dhok Hassu’s union council, Shazia Sajid.

However, police had reportedly called the girl to the police station again and found a contradiction in her statement. The police immediately presented her before the court.

“The aunt forced me to make this statement,” said the girl. The civil judge Asjad Chaudhry released both the accused.
