Student secures 99% marks as Karachi board announces matric results

25 students secure 98 per cent marks in Science Group examinations held under IPEMC’s revised policy

One candidate bagged 99% while 25 others secured 98% marks as the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Friday announced results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part II (Matriculation) Science Group examination.

These results have been released under the policy of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers' Conference (IPEMC) and later under the Examination and Assessment Policy, approved by the Steering Committee of the Sindh Education Department.

Under this policy, out of the first 30 students, who obtained A1 grade, and one student passed the matriculation examination with 843 marks out of 850, securing 99.17 percentage.

The topper having the roll number 505338 belonged to Quaid-e-Azam Rangers Secondary School Block A North Nazimabad. The other 29 students passed their examinations with 839 marks out of 850 with 98.70 percentage.

These students study in Falcon House North Karachi, Usman Public School, Federal Secondary School, Sindh Madrasatul Islam, National Pilot Secondary School, Ferrier Road School and Happy Home.

As per the results signed by Acting Director of Examinations Zaheer Uddin Bhutto, 156,287 students had registered in the Science Group out of which 148,950 participated in the examination.

As many as 41,476 students received A1 grade, 24,977 got A grade while 23,754 secured B grade.

Similarly, 23,213 students obtained C grade, 22,444 students got D while 10,204 students managed E grade. A total of 146,677 or 98.40 students passed the exam. 20,055 male and 21,421 female students secured A-one grades.

According to the results, 79,327 or 53% male students and 67,350 or 43% female students passed the examination.
