Five students among six killed in road accident

Rickshaw driver could not survive while the bus driver fled from the scene

Six people including five students were killed when a speedy bus hit a rickshaw on Tuesday.

Reportedly, the students were going to Gojra city on a motorcycle rickshaw. On the way, near Odanwali Basti, a passenger bus coming from Faisalabad to Chishtian rammed into a rickshaw. As a result, 18-year-old Amna, 11-year-old Abdullah and 9-year-old Eshal died on the spot. The critically injured were rushed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gojra.

Four injured from Gojra Hospital, 16-year-old Iman Fatima, 23-year-old Shanza, 12-year-old Amna, and 23-year-old Khadija were referred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad by doctors due to their critical condition. Whereas, 17-year-old Ayesha and 8-year-old Muhammad Sufyan are undergoing treatment at THQ Hospital Gojra.

Emotional scenes were witnessed in the village as soon as the new of the accident was reported. The bus driver fled from the scene after the accident while the police have taken the vehicles into their custody and started the investigation.

Rescue 1122 teams under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Mian Faraz Munir shifted the bodies to the hospital. Funeral prayers of the deceased were offered in their native village Chak 302 GB Noor.
