PML-N’s Pervez Malik passes away after prolonged illness
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Lahore President and Member National Assembly Pervez Malik passed away on Monday after a prolonged illness.
According to Express News, the PML-N leader died of a heart attack.
Due to his illness, he had excused himself from discharging his duties of the PML-N's Lahore presidency. A provincial meeting of the party was also postponed due to Malik’s death.
Malik was considered a devoted and loyal ally of PML-N. He was elected from different constituencies of Lahore on a PML-N ticket five times and was one of the few elected members of the PML-N in the National Assembly under former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

His wife, Shaista Pervez Malik and son Ali Pervez Malik were also members of the National Assembly.
PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif expressed grief over the demise of Malik.
“The party today lost a very capable, loyal, brave, sincere leader and a very good man,” he said. “His commitment, loyalty and love and trust with Nawaz Sharif and PML-N have been exemplary. His services to the country, democracy and the people will always be remembered.”
