In order to control the continuous rise in prices of daily-use items, the Rawalpindi administration has decided to set up 15 to 20 Sahulat Bazaars in four districts of the Rawalpindi region.
Rawalpindi Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah chaired a meeting to review prices of daily-use products. The district officials, including Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali, attended the meeting.
The commissioner banned surprise visits of all officers except for DCs, assistant commissioners (ACs), and price magistrates in vegetable and fruit wholesale markets. Shah directed the deployment of a district official for 12-hours during the bidding process in the vegetable and fruit market.
