OKARA:

Residents of Okara are facing non-availability of sugar, ghee, meat and other essential commodities in Sahulat Bazaars.

The bazaars were set up in Okara city and other tehsil headquarters like other cities, for public convenience in light of the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. However, due to the alleged negligence of the administration, items of daily need are not available in the Sahulat Bazaars and citizens are forced to return home empty-handed.

A local resident said that on the orders of the chief minister, Sahulat Bazaars with items at concessional prices had been set up in Okara, Renala Khurd, Depalpur and Gogera immediately after Ramazan, but they had now become only symbolic places where the administration only conducted photoshoots and sent reports to the higher authorities that they were functioning well.

Another citizen said the promised facilities were not available to the people in the Sahulat Bazaars in Okara district.
