Elimination of polio virus from city is top priority: Memon

Says, he is committed to join forces in their efforts to make Pakistan polio-free

Commissioner Karachi, Muhammad Iqbal Memon has said that his top priority is to eradicate polio virus from the city and join forces in their efforts to make the country polio-free. 

The commissioner expressed these views during his visit to Gujro Polio Task Force Centre on Saturday.

"Polio eradication is a national cause and I am committed to make all efforts to eliminate polio virus from the city," the commissioner added. He said, it will be made sure that all those children, who have not taken polio vaccination so far, will be vaccinated and all those parents who earlier refused from vaccinating their kids of up to five years of age, will be convinced to go for it.

Appreciating the efforts of Emergency Operation Centre and the team of Gujro Task Force, he directed the officials to make arrangements for the next round of anti-polio campaign.

Deputy Commissioner East, Asif Jan Siddiqui who is also the member of the Gujro Task Force for polio eradication, coordinator of the Gujro Tak Force for polio and other officials and doctors of the Emergency Polio Centre were present on the occasion.
