A 26-year-old woman has turned out to be the killer of a minor maid working at her house in the city.
Reportedly, the suspect confessed to the murder of 14-year-old housemaid Shumaila who was found at the house of MDA Cooperative Housing Society in BZ police station area.
Police were investigating the case under the supervision of SSP Operations Shaista Nadeem, SSP Investigation Amir Khan Niazi and all aspects of this case were being investigated.
After the postmortem of Shumaila, samples of her body parts had been sent to Punjab Forensic Lab for a detailed report. Shumaila's body has been handed over to her heirs. She was buried in her ancestral graveyard after her funeral prayers.
According to the police report, Shehnaz Mai, a resident of Sharifpura, Multan, and her two daughters Samina and Shumaila Bibi were working as housemaids.
Two days ago, Shehnaz told the police that her 14-year-old daughter, Shumaila Bibi who was working at Ghulam Hussain Mitla's house in MDA Cooperative Housing Colony, went to her employer’s house to deliver vegetables on the instruction of the house owner’s wife.
BZ police station registered a case and started searching for Shumaila, who had gone missing.
During a raid, police found Shumaila's body in the washroom on the third floor of Ghulam's house.
Reportedly, Shumaila's hands and feet were tied with ropes and there were blood stains on her clothes. The victim’s body had started decomposing.
According to the police officials, the exact cause of death of Shumaila will come to light after a detailed postmortem report.
After finding the body, police arrested Ghulam, the owner of the house, his two sons and daughter, and launched an investigation into the murder.
Meanwhile, the suspect Komal confessed during police investigation that she, in a fit of rage, had ‘accidentally’ pushed the victim down the stairs after an argument with her. The minor maid was seriously injured and died after falling down the stairs.
The suspect locked the teenage girl in the washroom on the third floor of her house. The suspect told police she along with her family wanted to dispose of the minor maid’s body somehow but they did not get the chance and were caught.
According to SSP Investigation Niazi, further investigation into the case was under way.
“Shumaila's body was lying in the washroom and began decomposing. No aspect of abuse had come to light in this case so far. However, the suspects are still being interrogated.”
On the other hand, after the postmortem of the teenage girl at Nishtar Hospital, the samples of her body parts had been sent to Punjab Forensics Lab for a detailed report. An initial post-mortem report found two marks of injuries on Shumaila's head.
Shumaila was buried after her funeral in Ada Mankot Salar Vahin.
