Karam Khan Kaleri, the director of research at the Agriculture Research Institute at Tando Jam, has been conferred a civil award by the president for developing a new variety of wheat named TD-I that gives a high yield. Kaleri created the seed by crossing wheat with a new variety TD-I, which was approved and released through the Sindh Seed Council. The new variety gave a record yield of 128 maunds per acre at Thebo Farm in Tando Allahyar. press release
