N Nazimabad residents decry worsening state of civic amenities

North Nazimabad was developed by the urban planners in 1950s keeping in mind that it will house the elite of the then capital city of Pakistan, today it suffers worst sanitation situation, damaged sewerage system, dilapidated infrastructure and other municipality issues.

The residents of North Nazimabad came out to take part in a family protest walk organised by the central district body of Jamate Islami (JI) from Hyderi Market to KDA Chowrangi against the worsening state of civic amenities in once posh area of the city.

JI Karachi Cheif Hafiz Naeemur Rehman led the walk. Women wearing yellow caps and holding yellow banners were at the front demanding restoration of their neighbourhoods. A large number of children, elderly and youth took part in the event.

Addressing the walk, the JI Karachi chief said that the joint committee of PPP, PTI and MQM-P should explain what it is doing for Karachi.

Half an hour of rain flooded roads of the city. He said that the residents of North Nazimabad area would have to leave their homes to solve their problems and besiege the DC office. He said that North Nazimabad Restoration Movement is now going to become movement of entire Karachi.
