LWMC awards waste collection contracts

CEO highlights LWMC saved Rs514 million through open bidding process

The LWMC has awarded secondary waste collection contracts to different various contractors through an open bidding process.

LWMC CEO Rafia Haider, on Saturday, highlighted that the company had saved Rs514 million through an open bidding process.

She disclosed that the waste lifting contract for Ravi Town has been awarded at Rs625 per tonne, Allama Iqbal Town at Rs1,113 per tonne and Nishtar Town at Rs848 per tonne.

Similarly, Samanabad Town waste lifting contract has been awarded at Rs745 per tonne, Data Ganj Bakhsh at Rs689, Shalimar Town Rs438 per ton, Gulberg Town at Rs645 per ton, Aziz Bhatti Town at Rs466 per tonne and Wahga Town at Rs384 per tonne.

“These contracts have been made on the basis of open bidding with the lowest received rates and helped the company to save public money,” she added.

She said the company has decided to further tighten supervision of its night shift cleaning operation to provide a cleaner city to the citizens in the early hours of the morning.
